Booster Packs!

It’s time for some of that exclusive content I promised you. This comes straight out of my mind. Sometimes I like to think, if Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium was a real show, what booster packs would be released along with the episodes. Since I started writing, I’ve been thinking about this, and have come up with several ideas. Every once in a while now, I’ll post the name and information on each booster pack. Now introducing the first: Plasma Burst.

Name: Plasma Burst

Cover Card: Cosmic Plasma Dragon

Abbreviation: PSBT

Contains cards from episodes 1-6

Introduces the following archetypes: Plasma, Cyber-Tech, Fiendish, Metamorphic, and Twilight

Also contains cards from the following archetypes: Chaos

Contains cards used by: Yuni Oha, Seto Ossius, Sly, Brutus Marc, Mite, and Trope.

I have many more to come. About every six or so episodes there is new booster pack. I’ll continuously post about other ones until I catch up to the current episodes, so stay tuned!

Until next time, duel on!

Taking a Break

This Saturday is the release of the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games, and I regret to say that I will be taking a 2-3 week break from writing in order to focus on becoming the Kalos Champion. I will be back to writing as soon as I conquer the game. In the mean time, I might take a break from all that training to come and make a post here. I’ll post some exclusive content, that won’t be posted anywhere else, so stay tuned. See you all soon!

Cyber-Techs in Real Life!?

You may not know this, but Yuni’s signature monsters, the Cyber-Techs, actually exist in real life! That’s right there is card called Cyber-Tech Alligator.

This card was used by Joey Wheeler in one of his duels with Mai Valentine. It may not seem that similar to the futuristic Cyber-Techs used by Yuni, but it does fit the basic requirements, since it is a cyborg. When I first created the Cyber-Tech archetype, I didn’t even know that this card existed. It wasn’t until later on that I learned of this card. Who knows, maybe some day Yuni will use this card in a duel. If you want to get your hands on a copy of the only Cyber-Tech monster to exist in real life, then grab yourself a Legendary Collector’s Set: Joey’s World, coming out Friday, October 11, the most recent set to print Cyber-Tech Alligator.

Episode 38 Review

***Spoiler Alert***

This episode was one of my most emotional ones yet. In our previous encounter of Ma’at, he had no depth as a character and next to no back story. The main purpose of this episode was to set up his background and make him into a real character. Also in this episode, I have the death of Themis, the Lord of Order. I introduced Themis purely for the purpose of this episode, to launch Ma’at into his position as the new Lord of Order. To elaborate on Themis’ illness, he was supposed to be so connected to the Cosmic Order, that when the balance was shifted towards darkness, he became terminally sick. A little history, Themis had been sick since Apep first became fully possessed by darkness, which means he was sick when he first took on Ma’at as a student.

Episode 37 Review

***Spoiler Alert***

This episode featured Brutus facing his fear. Brutus’ fear of the dark goes back to the episode It’s Time to Duel Part 1, where Brutus panicked when being dropped into the dark. At first this was purely a joke. I always enjoy making jokes in which Brutus, a supposed tough guy, acts the opposite way then what you would expect a tough guy to act. I didn’t plan on going anywhere with this at first beyond just a joke, but then I thought about the idea for the Night Terror deck and thought it would be a good idea to exploit the idea that Brutus was afraid of the dark. Speaking of the Night Terror archetype, their basis is being summoned in face-down attack mode, which against what you might think, is an actual mechanic. There is one card that allows this to happen. It is called Darkness Approaches. That card flips all monsters face-down, but they remain in the same battle position, meaning you can have a face-down attack mode monster.
